Eating lamb is something I recently started to really enjoy. I didn’t care for it too much due to the game flavor but not all lamb taste like that. I’ve learned imported has that stronger flavor so I kind of avoid it to really enjoy the meat. I love these air fryer lamb chops due to how easy they are to make not to mention the recipe. I created a garlic, thyme infused olive oil mix that I marinated for a few hours before preparing. I plan to share all that with you and the best time to cook it at.
What Are Lamb Chops
This can be confusing because even I see people using the rack of lamb as lamb chops. The rack of lamb comes from the rib. But, these can be considered lamb chops or lamb popsicles. On the other hand you have what I used in the photos which come from the shoulder. These too can be considered chops as well. For this recipe, I prefer shoulder chops due to their thickness. A chop from the rib will be super thin and you won’t build up those great browned, caramel pieces around the fat.
How To Cook Air Fryer Lamb Chops
To start, you’ll want to season and marinate the lamb chops. Now, personally salt and pepper work perfectly but due to the fact these cook so fast I think extra flavor will go a long way. Create the marinade and allow them to sit for a few hours to overnight. The method of vacuum sealing the marinade works better than just placing them in a bowl and uses less.
After marinating preheat the air fryer. Next, once air fryer has reached the proper temperature place in lamb chops and cook one side for 5 minutes. Then, flip and repeat for the other side as well.
This will get you to a medium to medium well temperature. You will have to adjust the time for your temperature liking.
What Goes With Lamb Chops
This is a rather simple answer. Anything really, it can rang from a broccoli salad to parmesan crusted potatoes. Lamb is red meat much like beef so things you’ll normally serve with beef will go perfect with lamb. How about stuffed mushrooms as an option?

This lamb chops will keep in the refrigerator at least 3-4 days. They were easy to store in a container or I simply put them in aluminum foil until I was able to get someone to test the recipe out.

Best temperature to cook lamb?
So, the meat temperature can range from rare all the way to well done. I personally prefer my red meat to a medium rare plus to medium temp for the best texture to me. In this recipe, the way I prepared them you’ll end up with medium plus to medium well temperature.
Air Fryer Lamb Chops
- 1 pound lamb shoulder chops
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 squeezed lemon
- 3 stem thyme leaves
- 2 clove grated garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- To creat the marinade, in a small bowl add olive oil, squeeze the whole lemon into it. remove the leaves from the thyme stems and grate the garlic finely. Add the salt and pepper and give it a good stir.
- In a vacuum sealed bag allow it to sit for at least an hour or preferably a few hours or overnight. You can also place it in a ziplockbag if you don't have a vacuum sealer.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F
- Remove the lamb chops from the marinade and place them directly into the air fryer. Cook 5 minutes each side which will give you a medium plus to medium well temperature. For a lower temp reduce time for higher add time.
- Serve hot.
