Parmesan crusted potatoes takes buttery Yukon gold potatoes and gives them a crispy, addicting garlic parmesan crust. These are perfect as a side dish for any meal or a great party food to serve guest!
Since I am on a kick with fresh parmesan cheese lately I decided to go with my favorite potatoes and add a crispy crust to them. Yukon gold potatoes have this natural buttery flavor to them and it seems they just melt in your mouth. Due to me being keto most of the year I indulge in potatoes here and there and these are always my go to. Now, the garlic crust I can top them out just has me looking forward to my next workout so I can burn them off because I need these in my life.
How To Make Parmesan Crusted Potatoes
First, grab some Yukon potatoes and slice them into 1/4 inch slices. Next, be sure to grab some real parmesan cheese with the additives.
That means “no” to the kind that sits on the shelf. Whole Foods does have a natural parmesan cheese that they carry in their cheese section. This one is legit if you don’t want to shed yourself.
In a bowl, add grated cheese, garlic and fresh or dried parsley.
Drizzle oil or butter over the potatoes and give them a light coating of salt and pepper. Then, on your baking sheet give a light sprinkle of the parmesan cheese mix to coat the backs of the potatoes.
This portion won’t get crunchy but it’s extra flavor and why deny yourself of that?
Next, lay the potatoes on top then sprinkle the remaining parmesan mix over the potatoes. You can press it in if you like or just leave it like that. In the photos I show an example of both.
Bake for 30 minutes or until crust is golden brown then remove. Watch the potato crust not the cheese on the pan that will get dark much quicker.
Remove then serve parmesan crusted potatoes and comment below your thoughts!

- What kind of potatoes, any potato will work such as a russet but I suggest the Yukon golds.
- Fresh parmesan cheese, do not use the Kraft brand because it won’t melt properly. You’ll either need to grate your own which is easy or buy some that is grated out of the cheese section of a store such as Whole Foods or Sprout’s.
