How To Make Ranch Potatoes

Ingredients needed

  • Yukon potatoes
  • Ranch dressing
  • Milk
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Bacon

Helpful tips for the best recipe

  • Dice the potatoes up small. You do not want big chunks that will only slow down the cooking time for the potatoes.
  • In the photos I used an cast iron pan that’s around 9-10 inches. If you do not own one a baking dish is fine but something around 8-9 inches is the best size for these ranch potatoes.

Making the ranch potatoes in the oven

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F.
  2. Then, wash and dice the Yukon potatoes up. You do not need to soak them or anything.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the milk and the ranch dressing. Then, add the diced potatoes to the baking dish and pour over the sauce. Give it a little mix to make sure that the dry potatoes aren’t touching the bottom of the dish.
  4. Cover the baking dish with foil and place in preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  5. While that’s cooking make and chop up your bacon.
  6. At 30 minutes, remove the dish and the foil. Top with shredded cheese and bacon. Now, bake a remaining 25 minutes or so in the oven. You want the cheese melted and browning a little bit.
  7. Lastly, remove from oven and allow the potatoes to cool because the sauce will be extremely hot.
