How To Make Hamburger Quesadilla

Ingredients needed

  • Ground beef
  • Taco seasoning
  • Shredded cheese
  • Tortillas
  • Black beans & corn (optional)
  • Toppings (optional)

Quick tips before starting the recipe

  • You’ll need flour tortillas for this recipe because they don’t make corn tortillas the size you need for quesadillas. Also, when searing the quesadilla have the heat around a medium setting. Flour tortilla burn really easy.
  • The black beans and corn are a great addition and a nice way to bring in some fiber and veggies. They are optional because they won’t make a huge difference in overall flavor.
  • Sauces are optional for any quesadilla. Have fun with experiments with sour cream, guacamole or even a store bought dressing such as a salsa or Taco Bell’s chipotle sauce.

Making the hamburger quesadilla recipe

  1. First, if using the black beans and corn, prep those then have them sitting to the side.
  2. In a frying pan, add in the ground beef and brown it all the way. Then, prepare the taco seasoning mix according to the package instructions.
  3. After you add the seasoning mix, this is where you toss in the black beans and corn. The taco seasoning will come together and thicken everything.
  4. Next, on a skillet on medium heat add a little oil or butter. Place the tortilla down then add shredded cheese to one side. Then, spoon some of the cooked hamburger meat on top of the cheese. Now, add cheese on top of the hamburger meat and fold the other side of the tortilla on top. You should now have both sides with cheese and the meat in the middle.
  5. Allow the tortilla to cook and the cheese to melt. Then, flip the quesadilla over to melt the cheese and brown the other half. Once that side is done the quesadilla is ready to serve.
  6. Serve as is or add some fresh ingredients like diced tomato and cilantro.
