Mousse is amazing! One thing I didn’t have to give up when I started keto. Fluffy, smooth and creamy the chocolate and peanut butter mousse are what I consider high class dessert classics. My chocolate mousse was a go to but now since I created peanut butter it has a run for it’s money. Topping the keto dessert off with sugar free whipped cream and chocolate chips or shavings really tackles those sweet cravings. All while keeping my low carb and sugar free with this dessert that’s loaded with fat.

Yes, it is but be careful. Most peanut butters come loaded with sugar. Look for sugar free organic versions. Some come with or without salts and read ingredients because some use oils to help make it smoother. Anyone with peanut allergies stay away.

How To Make Keto Peanut Butter Mousse

You’ll need gelatin to help stabilize this no bake keto mousse recipe. You can skip it but only if you don’t like your mousse firm.

Bloom the gelatin then set to the side. Grab heavy cream, sour cream and peanut butter. You want a powdered sweetener. If you follow me you’ll know Allumonk is my go to powdered sweetener.

With a hand mixer, blend the peanut butter and powdered sweetener together. Next, add in vanilla extract and sour cream. Microwave the bloomed gelatin for 10 seconds. Then, pour in peanut butter mix and blend it until smooth.

In a separate bowl, blend the heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks. Then, add in the peanut butter mix and on a low speed combine the two until the mousse is even. Fold over if some parts don’t mix well.

Finally, cover then place in the refrigerator for an hour, then serve.

  • Don’t overheat gelatin. Ten seconds is the max you don’t want to melt your heavy cream when added.
  • Sub almond butter for peanut butter? Sure, go for it! Any nut butter will work well in this recipe.

Ingredients
 

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar free peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sweetener
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tablespoon gelatin (or 1.5 tsp)
  • 1 tablespoon cold water

Instructions
 

  • Bloom gelatin in cold water by adding powder to small bowl and adding the water on top. Give a short whisk then set aside.
  • With a hand mixer blend peanut butter and sweetener together. Place gelatin in microwave for a maximum of 10 seconds. Add vanilla extract, sour cream and melted gelatin into peanut butter then mix until smooth.
  • In a seperate bowl blend heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks
  • Spoon peanut butter into the fluffy heavy cream and blend on a very low speed until combined. Scape sides and if any mousse hasnt mixed just fold it in.

  2. You can heat the water over the stove, a microwave isn’t needed, it’s just faster.
