- Skill level: The breakfast sliders are super easy. The ingredients are already set to assemble minus the eggs. You’ll have to scramble them yourself. The rest of the prep work is simple, just follow the directions.
- Process: You’ll scramble the eggs first. Then, you’ll stack the ingredients one by one onto the bottom half of the sliders. Place on the top, sprinkle with parmesan cheese then cover the pan and bake. You’ll remove the cover then bake until the buns are browned.
Ingredient tips
- Dinner rolls: There are several offerings for dinner rolls. The recipe calls for Hawaiian sweet rolls but you have the option of butter bread, brioche and a simple dinner roll.
- Ham: The ham used is honey ham for a sweet finish. This is a great recipe if you have leftover ham from a dinner or during the holidays.
- Cheese: American cheese is used because its the most classic with the combination for these ham and cheese breakfast sliders. But, Swiss cheese works great, cheddar or a smokey cheese like provolone.
Chef’s tips
- Add a sauce! A combination of 1/2 cup of mayo with 1 tablespoon of Dijon Mustard would pair perfectly with these. You can also add some maple syrup or honey for drizzling when they are done.
- Be sure to cover the ham and cheese breakfast sliders while baking. American cheese melts a little weird and in previous testing the cheese needed more time to melt in the oven. Tinting the tops gives the cheese time to melt before the tops brown.
- You don’t only have to use ham, you could swap out the protein for turkey as well. Other proteins work as well like bacon and sausage.
How To Make Ham And Cheese Breakfast Sliders
- To start, scramble the eggs and season them. Set them to the side while you prep the rest of the ham and cheese breakfast sliders.
- Slice the dinner rolls in half. Then start by stacking the cheese first. Next, add the scrambled eggs.
- Now, add the ham then the last layer of cheese. Brush the top with butter then sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over the top.
- Place the ham and cheese breakfast sliders in the oven covered. Then, remove the cover and allow the sliders to bake until the tops are brown.
- Remove from the oven, slice them up then serve.

These breakfast sliders are great for making ahead. You can prep them ahead them cover them with foil and bake when you’re ready. Be sure to follow the same instructions because you’ll need to add another 5 minutes to the time they are baking while covered.
The can also be frozen if there are leftovers then reheated later. They’ll keep fine in the fridge for 2-3 days.
