Helpful tips
- I used Hawaiian dinner rolls for this recipe but any dinner rolls will work. But with any dinner rolls be careful with how you cut them. Try to keep the knife even while cutting and do not separate the rolls until they finish baking, just like in the photos.
- You can use grated mozzarella or slices for the recipes to lay on the dinner rolls. The most gooey texture or cheese pull will come from sliced or mozzarella cheese you grate yourself. Pre-shredded cheese is an option but due to the non-caking agent the cheese is coated in it prevents the melting we love that comes with cheese.
- There should not be a need for salt but taste the marinara sauce before adding to make sure it’s seasoned the way you’d like.
- Choose the chicken strips you like the most. If making for a huge crowd, Tyson’s is just fine and on the cheaper side.
