- Thickening the sauce should not be a problem because of the starches in the cream of mushroom soup. But, if you’d like to thicken the soup more, you’ll want to add a cornstarch slurry to the crockpot. You’ll need to add cooking time after you add this in order for the sauce to thicken.
- Using different cuts of chicken will not change the recipe. Use thighs or drumsticks and the results will be the same.

Making the chicken with cream of mushroom in the crockpot
- To start, remove the chicken from the packaging and pat dry if needed.
- Now, in the crockpot add a can of cream of mushroom chicken then fill the can with water and pour that into the crockpot as well. Season the sauce with added salt, black pepper and thyme.
- Then, add in the raw chicken. On top, place the mushrooms after you have washed them.
