How To Make Cherry Pie Bars

Ingredients needed for the recipe

  • Cherry pie filling
  • All-purpose flour
  • Granulated sugar
  • Butter
  • Glaze (listed below)

Tips for the recipe, what to expect

This cherry pie bars are delicious but understand that canned cherry pie fillings will vary. The cans sometimes have very little cherries. This will make soft spot in the bars when it’s time to cut them and serve. I do not have a brand in specific to recommend but typically stay away from the store brand ones, they short you really bad with the fruit.

Making the cherry pie bars recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. In a bowl, add the flour and the sugar together. Then using a pastry cutter, cut the butter into the flour and sugar until combined and crumbly. Line the baking dish to make removal easy.
  3. Take about 85% of the dough out and press it into a base crust in your lined baking dish. Then, spread the cherry pie filling across the crust. Take the remaining crumbles and sprinkle them across the top of the cherry pie filing.
  4. Place in the oven and bake for 55 minutes. When it’s done baking, allow to fully cool. Then, place the cherry pie bars in the refrigerator covered for a few hours to set. This will making cutting them much easier.
  5. After cutting the bars, serve and enjoy.
