how to make your own blueberry filling using fresh blueberries

If you have some fresh blueberries that you would rather use than buying the blueberry pie filling the recipe is simple. Take about 3-4 cups of fresh blueberries. Add them to a pot and add 3/4 cup granulated sugar with 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar. Cook those together then use about 1/4 cup of water with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch in the end to thicken it. Once thickened add to the baking dish and follow the rest of the recipe as normal.

Making the blueberry cobbler with cake mix recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. In a baking pan, empty out both cans of pie filling or use the recipe I provided for your own filling.
  3. Then, sprinkle the cake mix across the top of the filling. Next, sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mix across the cake mix. After that, take thin slices of butter and place it across the entire top. Try to make it as even as possible to prevent dry spots. But, sometimes they happen.
  4. Bake for 40 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool, this is where the top gets crispy.
  5. Once cooled, serve with ice cream and enjoy!
