How To Make No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients needed

  • Butter
  • Evaporated milk
  • Creamy peanut butter
  • Granulated sugar
  • Powdered cocoa
  • Vanilla extract
  • Quick oats

Tips, where the recipe can go wrong…

  • It’s important that you use the base ingredients I have listed. Make sure the peanut butter is creamy, don’t swap the evaporated milk and to use quick oat because regular oats aren’t going to work for this recipe.
  • There are several recipes that say to boil the mixture. Do not do that, it’s never a good idea to boil anything dairy. Yet, there are a ton of reviews complaining about inconsistencies. Slowly heat the ingredients until they are all combined and never let it boil because it doesn’t have to or need to.

Making the no bake chocolate oatmeal cookies recipe

  1. In a small pot on medium heat, add in the butter, evaporated milk, peanut butter and the cocoa. Do not stir it for a while until you see that the butter has melted it down then gently fold the ingredients to help melt evenly.
  2. When everything is almost melted down, this is when you start to stir the recipe. This should take 5-10 minutes but never let it boil. Once you see everything is melted together, remove from the heat, then add in the vanilla extract and then the quick oats.
  3. Fold in the quick oats. Next, take a cookie scoop and place the cookies onto parchment paper. You can leave them thick or flatten them by hand into the shape of a “normal” cookie like I did for the photos. To add, in the photos those are two cookie scoops combined.
  4. Allow them to sit and cool completely, you’ll get about 26-30 cookies from this recipe. Half if you double the size as I did.
