Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How to clean the pumpkin seeds?
- When you remove the seeds they will be full of pumpkin and slimy. Washing them in hot water is enough. Grab yourself a strainer and run some hot water in the sink and rinse them. While rinsing you’ll need to remove the string pieces.
- You do not have to make them perfect. To add, they will always be sticky until you cook them. For this reason do not dry them on paper towel because they will stick.
- I do not think you have to allow them to dry because during my testing of the recipe I had several batches. This is how I found out not to add them to paper towel. But, the ones that still were wet performed the same as the ones that dry completely.
Do I need to soak the pumpkin seeds?
There are different opinions all over the internet but I did not notice a difference when I was testing out the batches in this air fryer pumpkin seeds recipe. It doesn’t hurt to soak or boil the pumpkin seeds if that is what you want to do.
