Recipe Highlights

  • Ground beef, you can play around with the fat content or even switch for ground turkey for a healthier version if you’re not a fan of beef.
  • Potatoes, I recommend Yukon gold but any potatoes will work. They add an extra filling touch to the recipe.
  • Salsa, the star of the show and for those that like extra spicy, mild or even verde versus rojo can enjoy playing around with this ingredient to truly make it yours.
  • Cheese, the cheese adds a creamy touch and an addicting pull. You can have fun with things like pepper jack, mozzarella or any cheese that melts easily.

Ingredients needed for the recipe

  • Ground beef
  • Potatoes
  • Chunky salsa
  • Black beans
  • Taco seasoning
  • Ranch seasoning
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Cilantro for garnishing

Quick tips before cooking

  • Dice the potatoes small. You’ll want them to cook all the way through as soon as possible. This is the reason I recommend Yukon because they are not only creamy but they cook faster than russet potatoes.
  • Cook in a pan that you can easily transfer to the oven. That will cut down on dishes and make this a one pan meal.
