A keto cheeseburger casserole is perfect without the bun and you still get the classic cheeseburger flavor with bacon, mayo, ketchup and tons of cheese. This is a great low carb option for dinner all the family and friends can enjoy together!

To me there is nothing like a cheeseburger. Before I had always had a passion for beef. Steak is my thing now but a kid cheeseburger was it! Enough about me. Now, this casserole is suppose to resemble a bacon cheeseburger, who knew? Making it is super easy but it’s one of those recipes I think should be customized.

How To Make Keto Cheeseburger Casserole

To start, I recommend using lean ground beef. Normally, I’ll say go with the fattiest meat but here you want to avoid that because the fat will just pool in the casserole while cooking. Great for burgers but not so much here.

Now, take an entire onion and diced it up. In a large pot, add the onion, minced garlic then the hamburger. Sauté everything and brown the hamburger. Then, add in a can of drained dice tomatoes and cream cheese.

You can turn the heat off now. The residual heat is enough to get this part done. Next, add in mayo, ketchup, garlic powder and black pepper. Stir all these in well.

Then, add to the casserole dish and top off with shredded cheese and crispy bacon. Bake for 20 minutes in a preheat oven then serve and garnish with pickles if you like, I sure do!

  • What to eat with keto cheeseburger casserole? Personally, I ate it alone with pickles but some keto friendly bread, maybe even a soup but all work great. I highly recommend my keto fries with ketchup. This recipe is to be pan fried not in the air fryer. I have zucchini fries for the air fryer!
  • Make it your own, if you love mushrooms, more tomatoes, different cheese on your cheeseburger go for it.

Ingredients
 

  • 2 pound 93/7 ground beef
  • 1 diced yellow onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup mayo
  • 1/4 cup keto friendly ketchup
  • 6 strips bacon
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14oz.)
  • 4 ounce cream cheese
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F
  • Dice onion and drain the can of tomatoes. Cut up bacon and fry in a pan. Remove from left over fat and set aside
  • In a large pot on medium high heat add in diced onion, minced garlic and ground beef. Cook until brown.
  • Then add in drained tomatoes and cream cheese. Turn the heat off now the residual heat should be enough to melt the cream cheese. Add in the mayo, ketchup, salt, garlic powder and black pepper. Taste for saltiness if you want to add more.
  • Add everything in the pot into the casserole dish. Top with shredded cheese and bacon then bake for 20 minutes. Remove allow to cool a bit then serve.
