Jimmy Dean Sausage Balls
Jimmy Dean sausage balls taste way better than the classic recipe but just as easy to make. Adding more spices and veggies make these amazing for an appetizer.
Ingredients
- 16 ounces ground sausage (Jimmy Dean)
- 3/4 cup bisquick (or any pancake mix)
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 1/4 medium yellow onion (minced)
- 1 rib celery (minced)
- 1 tablespoon garlic (minced)
Instructions
- To start, preheat the oven to 400F.
- Next, in a mixing bowl add in the ground sausage. Now, finely chop up the onion. You will want to take it a step further than dicing into squares because the sausage balls are small. They will need mincing instead.
- Then, mince a rib of celery. You can use minced garlic as well to make it easier or you can finely mince a clove of garlic yourself.
- Add these chopped ingredients into the bowl with the sausage.
- Next, add in shredded cheddar and bisquick. Take about 5 minutes to knead everything together. If you have a stand mix that would be perfect.
- Continue kneading the ingredients together until everything is even.
- Now, grab a cookie scoop and roll the sausage balls in your hand then placing them on a baking sheet.
- Bake in a preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the sausage balls reach an internal temp at least 145F.
- Allow them to cool a bit before serving and enjoy.
