Jimmy Dean sausage balls taste way better than the classic recipe but just as easy to make. Adding more spices and veggies make these amazing for an appetizer.
Next, in a mixing bowl add in the ground sausage. Now, finely chop up the onion. You will want to take it a step further than dicing into squares because the sausage balls are small. They will need mincing instead.
Then, mince a rib of celery. You can use minced garlic as well to make it easier or you can finely mince a clove of garlic yourself.
Add these chopped ingredients into the bowl with the sausage.
Next, add in shredded cheddar and bisquick. Take about 5 minutes to knead everything together. If you have a stand mix that would be perfect.
Continue kneading the ingredients together until everything is even.
Now, grab a cookie scoop and roll the sausage balls in your hand then placing them on a baking sheet.
Bake in a preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the sausage balls reach an internal temp at least 145F.
Allow them to cool a bit before serving and enjoy.
