Chicken breast are always a win in my household. Recently, my garlic butter chicken bites have done very well via Pinterest. I wanted to reinvent it a little and instead of chicken chunks use entire thinly sliced chicken breast. To add, I thickened the sauce for a creamy texture that held the garlic flavor like nothing else. You’ll enjoy this one!
How To Make Garlic Butter For Chicken
In this recipe, the garlic butter sauce is really is to make. You want to sear and sauté chicken until they are done. Hence, the reason for thinly sliced chicken breast to make is easier for you.
In a bowl or measuring cup pour out 1/2 cup of chicken stock or broth. Next, add in two teaspoons of corn starch.
Now, when the chicken is done add in come minced garlic right in the middle. Give it a toss or two and lower the heat. Then, pour in chicken stock.
Shortly after the cornstarch will do its thing. Next, toss in two tablespoons of butter. Allow it to simmer on a low heat for a bit with the chicken.
About 2 minutes should do. Remove chicken then serve.

- Minced garlic, freshly chopped garlic can work as well in this recipe.
- Lower heat, before adding in the chicken stock with cornstarch lower your heat. If it’s up too high it will burn and that’ll destroy the whole dish.

Garlic butter chicken
Ingredients
- 1 pound thinly sliced chicken breast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup chicken stock or broth
- 2 teaspoon corn starch
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoon minced garlic
Instructions
- Season chicken with salt, black pepper and garlic powder. The measurements above are rough measurements. With any recipe always salt to taste.
- In a skillet on medium high heat add a little oil to pan. Carefully place chicken breast in hot oil and sear both sides.
- When chicken is almost cooked through make a space in the center of the pan and toss in the minced garlic. Move it around in the oil a little but dont burn it. Lower the heat.
- Now add in broth and corn starch mix onto chicken. It'll thicken almost immedietly. Right after you pour the broth add in your butter. Mix sauce with spoon.
- Allow the chicken to simmer in this sauce for about 2 minutes. Be sure to flip so both sides get sauce.
- Check to make sure chicken is cooked through then serve and garnish with fresh herbs. I used parsley in the photos. I had 4 pieces of chicken in my recipe. Nutrition facts are based off of 4 pieces.
