What is the best jelly for little smokies

Growing up, my mom always made these with a mix of gravy and grape jelly. They were delicious but since swapping the gravy for barbecue sauce, I’ve loved the spice that comes with it. You’ll get a sweet flavor from the grape jelly but the apple butter adds a slight sweet, cinnamony under-note that will make your guest ask what have you done different with these?

Making the little smokies in the crockpot

  1. Remove the little smokies from the package and toss them into the crockpot.
  2. In a small bow, mix together the barbecue sauce and apple butter. Pour that on top of the little smokies and give them a quick mix. Cook on high for 2-3 hours until the little smokies are heated through.
  3. They are great to cook ahead of time and leave them on a warm setting as the guest arrive for serving.
