What are ripe bananas and are they important?
Ripe bananas are the final stage in the banana before they start going bad. At this stage the bananas are the most sweet and they are softer than when they are green.
Note, you can use green bananas but they aren’t as sweet and lack that true banana flavor. They will also be more of a challenge to mix in because they are harder to mash.
