You’ll love these air fryer salmon patties for a healthy dinner recipe. Not having bread crumbs means they are low carb and keto friendly. Easily made in 30 minutes I explain step by step how to make this recipe with video included.
I’v been a fan of salmon for years. I just recently purchased an air fryer and thought why not try some salmon patties? Using canned salmon in this recipe helped to keep it quick and easily as possible. Is canned salmon healthy? Depends on the sourcing of the salmon. Wild caught is always best and they do sell canned wild caught salmon in the store. Be sure to read your labels always.
How Long To Cook Salmon Patties In Air Fryer
First, you buy canned salmon which is already ready to eat. So, in turn you need enough time to cook the eggs in the recipe and melt your cheese. From experience, I’d add parchment paper in the bottom because they do stick a little. Using a spatula I was able to get them off without damaging the patty. But, parchment paper would have made lifting them much easier.
How To Make Salmon Patties-Step By Step
- Start with canned salmon, drain the excess water off and chop it up.
- Next, add your herbs and spices for flavoring. Pay attention to salt content. The can I had was moderate salt so I didn’t add much extra.
- Mix well. Toss in egg and cheese next.
- Combine all of your ingredients and make sure they are well incorporated within one another.
- Make small patties in your hand and shape them as in the video with the recipe.
- Place in preheated air fryer for 8 minutes. Remove and serve.
Helpful Recipe Tips
- Can you eat salmon bones? Yes, you can! They are soft enough to digest easily and you won’t even notice they are there. I personally do remove the large spine bone when using them.
- The times vary. I chose 8 minutes to make sure the egg cooked and cheese melted. You can cook longer for a darker outside but with my time limit they came out nice and juicy.
