How To Make Air Fryer Mushrooms
Ingredients needed
- Mushrooms
- Seasonings (listed below)
Best mushrooms for the recipe
I suggest uses whole mushrooms against slicing them. They are easier to handle for you and transferring in and out of the air fryer as well. For these directions, avoid the huge portobello mushroom as well. The instructions are made for baby whole mushrooms.

How to season mushrooms
It’s best to season mushrooms towards the end of the cook. An example of this you’ll find in my caramelized mushrooms and onions recipe. Mushrooms have a ton of water and adding flavors too early will be a bit of a waste since they’ll basically get washed away.
Making the mushrooms in the air fryer
- First, rinse and clean the mushrooms from the package.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400F.
- Now, toss the mushrooms in about 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. Then, place in the preheated air fryer.
- Cook the mushrooms for 8 minutes and give the basket a shake about halfway through.
- When the time is up, transfer the mushrooms to a bowl then toss in salt and pepper to taste. For extra flavor, leave out the salt and add in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Toss then then place back in the air fryer for an extra 5 minutes at 400F.
- Once finished allow the mushrooms to cool then serve.
