How To Make Asian Chicken Thighs

Ingredients needed for the recipe

  • Chicken thighs
  • Soy sauce
  • Light brown sugar
  • Sriracha
  • Hoisin sauce
  • White vinegar
  • Sesame oil
  • All-purpose flour
  • Cornstarch (see notes)

Quick tip before starting

  • The cornstarch is optional in the recipe because it helps bring the ingredients in the sauce together along with the juices from the chicken. If not they will separate but it’s still have the same flavor and it’ll cling to the chicken as well.
  • If you do not have an oven safe frying pan or cast iron pan you can cook the chicken on the stove then transfer to a baking dish.

Making the Asian chicken thighs recipe

  1. To start, pat the chicken thighs dry then season with salt and pepper to taste. In a small plate, mix together the flour and seasoning. Mix together the ingredients for the sauce then sat to the side.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400F.
  3. In an oven safe frying pan, turn to medium heat and add a little oil for cooking. Place the chicken in the flour and coat both sides then place into the hot pan with the oil. Brown both sides of the chicken until golden then remove from the pan.
  4. Once you have reached the last chicken thigh turn off the stove and remove the pan from the heat. Add all the chicken thighs back in then pour in the sauce.
  5. Now, place the pan into the oven uncovered and allow the chicken to finish cooking. This will vary depending on the size of the chicken thigh but 10-15 minutes should do it.
  6. Once the chicken is done, remove the pan and carefully baste the chicken thighs in the sauce. Allow to cool a bit before serving and serve the thighs with the sauce, enjoy.
