Ingredients needed
- Chickpeas or also known as garbanzo beans
- Seasonings (listed below)
Important tip for safety
Chickpeas or garbanzo beans like to burst. When making this recipe, the step where you need to remove the basket and shake the beans around do so with caution. Simply, release the lock of the basket it then give the basket an easy shake back and forth. This will keep the beans covered while they burst by using the air fryer as a shield.
To add, when the air fryer chickpeas are finished, do not open the basket for 2 minutes because the beans will still burst when the air fryer is off. Please protect your eyes while making this recipe.

Making the chickpeas in the air fryer
- To start, drain the beans from the can then give them a rinse. You do not need to dry them off. Place the drained beans in a bowl.
- Turn on and preheat the air fryer to 400F.
- While heating, season the chickpeas with the seasoning provided or simply salt and pepper with a little oil.
- Once preheated, add the seasoned chickpeas to the air fryer basket. Cook for 12 minutes. At the midway point, carefully give the basket a shake to roll the chickpeas around.
- Lastly, allow the chickpeas to sit in the air fryer a minute or two, see tips as to why. After that serve and enjoy the crispy air fryer chickpeas.
