baked turkey meatballs

Turkey or chicken is a great low fat alternative to beef and these baked turkey meatballs are perfect. These meatballs are the perfect blend of lightness and indulgence. Whether you’re looking for a delicious appetizer or a main course, these baked turkey meatballs will surely be exactly what you were looking for.

Made with lean ground turkey, these meatballs are a guilt-free alternative to traditional beef meatballs. The lean protein in turkey not only provides a satisfying texture, but it also makes for a heart-healthy meal. Baking the meatballs eliminates the need for excessive oil, resulting in a lighter, yet still deliciously moist texture.

The secret to these turkey meatballs lies in the perfect combination of seasonings to make everything stand out when serving. So, let’s head in the kitchen and get started!

How To Make Baked Turkey Meatballs

Ingredients needed for the recipe

  • Lean ground turkey
  • Italian breadcrumbs
  • Egg
  • Milk
  • Seasonings (listed below)

Quick tip for added flavor

You can make the meatballs large enough to sear them on the stove top then allow them to finish baking in the oven. This will allow an extra layer of flavor that you won’t get by simply baking them. Just sear a side or two until they are golden then place them in the oven and follow the rest of the directions.

Making the baked turkey meatballs recipe

  1. First in a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients for the meatballs.
  2. Now, cover the bowl then allow to sit in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes. This will give the breadcrumbs time to do their thing and the meatballs will hold up nicely when making them.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400F.
  4. Remove the meatballs from the fridge and roll them out by hand. I normally make them golf ball sizes.
  5. Place on a sheet pan and bake for 15 minutes. They will cook very fast due to their size. Once done, remove them from the oven and serve. They will be hot but they will also cool very quickly.
