Making the sweet chili Brussels sprouts

  1. First, halve the Brussels sprouts. Now, choose a frying pan that has a lid.
  2. Turn the frying pan on medium heat then add in just enough cooking oil to cover the bottom. You can add more as you cook but we are not deep frying the Brussels sprouts.
  3. Place the cut sprouts into the oil cut-side down. Then, place the lid on. After a few minutes you want to flip the sprouts. Do not leave them and if they are cooking too fast lower the heat a little bit. After a few minutes on both sides while covered they should be cooked through without burning. If they are still raw after the second flip turn the heat down.
  4. Cook all the Brussels sprouts until they are all roasted and done. Then, with the lid off, add in the sesame oil and the sweet chili sauce. Toss the sprouts in the oil and sauce until everything is heated through and they are sticky.
  5. Serve shortly after cooking because they will cool fast.
