How To Make Potato Chip Cookies

Ingredients needed

  • Potato chips (any plain potato chips will do)
  • Chocolate chips
  • Butter
  • Granulated sugar
  • Brown sugar
  • Egg
  • All-purpose flour
  • Baking soda
  • Vanilla extract

Making the potato chip cookies recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. Begin the recipe by creaming the butter and the sugars together on a high speed for about two minutes. Then, add in the vanilla extract, eggs and egg yolk.
  3. In a separate bowl, add in the flour, baking soda and salt. Combine the dry and wet ingredients until the dough is almost formed.
  4. Now, add in the potato chips and chocolate chips and fold them into the dough.
  5. Scoop the dough and place on a lined sheet pan. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are slightly browning. Remove and allow them to cool a bit before serving, enjoy.

Does resting the dough make better cookies?

It depends on the cookie dough. Sometimes resting the dough can make a better cookie with a more concentrated flavor. For this recipe, I’ve had them refrigerated and made fresh and don’t really notice a difference in flavor.

Storing them and freezing

You can always freeze cookie dough for later. A tip, scoop them on a lined sheet pan then freeze them. Once frozen, package them up and when you’re ready for a cookie you can bake them from frozen.
