How To Make Pesto Pork Chops
Ingredients needed
- Pork chops
- Store-bought pesto or homemade (ingredients listed below)
Important tips before starting the recipe
- This is not a recipe for thin pork chops unless you are choosing one of the two methods used to cook them. You’ll have to only pan fry or only bake. Thin pork chops will cook extremely fast.
- When making the quick homemade pesto, you’ll have to adjust the salt to taste. I would even recommend making some extra pesto to top the chops with when done cooking. You have the option to salt and pepper the pork chops before cooking as well but you also run the risk of over-salting the meat. It’s best to wait until you can taste everything together and adjust the salt then.
Making the pesto pork chops recipe
- If making the quick homemade pesto, mix everything together.
- Now, pat dry the chops then add them into a bag then pour in the pesto. Massage everything together. Allow to marinate for at least an hour up to 6 hours.
- When done, preheat the oven to 400F.
- Now, in a frying pan add a little oil and sear both sides of the pork chops. Take them straight from the bag into the hot oil. Once seared add them to a sheet pan.
- When all the chops are seared, place the sheet pan in the oven and bake until fully cooked. This will vary depending on the thickness of the pork chop, but it can range from 12-20 minutes.
- Once chops are cooked through you can top with the extra pesto and serve.
