What is burrata & where to find it

Burrata is a mix of mozzarella and cream*. There’s an outside shell made of cheese but when holding you can tell the inside isn’t solid. The inside is stracciatella and cream which is small shreds of cheese in well, cream. The flavor is super buttery and smooth without being overpowering like say a cheddar or brie. I recommend using the toasty bread with the salad for an awesome experience.

You can find burrata in any grocery store with a good cheese selection. It’s bee very close to the mozzarella cheese and pearls because it is made of mozzarella.

Making the peach burrata salad recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F.
  2. Now, slice and drizzle the bread with olive oil and bake in the oven for 10 minutes, flipping the toast halfway through.
  3. Slice the peaches and discard the seed. Also, slice the cherry tomatoes in half. Prep the basil by removing it from the stem. Try to avoid slicing it to prevent oxidation. Mix all of these together.
  4. Plate the ingredients then place the burrata cheese right in the center. You can also spread it in pieces around the salad but I like it as a center piece for dipping.
  5. Drizzle the salad with olive oil and the balsamic glaze. Arrange the toast to the side then serve.
