Good question, the thing is traditional taco salad include things such as Doritos, corn and corn chips which are not keto at all. Hence, the reason for this recipe to give you a better option on how to pull it off while sticking to your diet.

  • Pico de Gallo, instead of the grape tomatoes use pico de Gallo for a tasty sub.
  • Guacamole, why just have plain avocados, although tasty. You can add in some fresh guac with a delicious lime flavor. Just remember the guac is extra!

How To Make Keto Taco Salad

First, you’ll need a taco seasoning. I have a recipe but a store bought one works just as well. Honestly, cheaper if you don’t already own all the spices.

Next, brown your grown beef in a pan. If using a seasoning there will be a natural thickener plus directions on the back, For mine, you’ll need to add 1/4 cup of water and tomato paste at the end to bring everything together.

Now, set that aside and you’ll need to chop your romaine lettuce into strips for easy eating. Slice grape tomatoes, slice avocado and drain some black olives. These will make up the bulk of your fillings for the salad.

In the salad bowl, add everything and give it a toss. Then, add in ground beef with sour cream and salsa of choice. Next, be sure to thank me and leave a review after you and your family gobble it down!
