How To Make Keto Taco Seasoning- Step By Step
- Start by getting all your spices together. This is very simple and easy to make.
- In a small bowl in no particular order add all your seasoning.
- Mix around with a whisk or simply a spoon or fork.
- How to make tacos with it is you simply season your ground beef with it as you would any other seasoning. If you’d like a thickening effect add some water with xanthan or guar gum.

- I use quality spices and flavor does vary from brand to brand. So, sourcing organic spices are your best option.
- For those use to the thickness the packets bring xanthan gum will be your best friend. A little goes a long way so add about 1/4 cup of water with 1/8 teaspoon of gum.
- The way I cook taco meat is very easy. Brown the meat in the pan then add the seasoning with water. Next, sprinkle the xanthan gum over while mixing. I sprinkle about half then see if the meat has the consistency I want. You don’t want your meat dry. A small tip if you use higher fat meat you won’t nee water. Simply use the fat in the pan instead.

What is so bad about store bought seasoning? Well, typically these packet seasonings have sugar, maltodextrin and starches to create a thickness to them. Of course, being on the keto diet you want to avoid sugar but the starches bring unwanted carbs as well. To recreate that thickness I add a little of xanthan gum with water to my ground beef when I make tacos.
Taco Shells or Tortillas
I don’t have a tortilla shell recipe but there is one I use personally. It’s made with coconut flour so great for anyone with nut allergies. Although, a little tip to reduce the coconut flour taste.
