Keto chicken pizza crust that is zero carbs for the entire crust. Super filling, packed with protein and flavor this keto pizza crust is one of the best options on keto. Make this crust and load it down with melty cheeses, salty meats and hearty veggies all while staying low carb and not straying off your diet!
Who doesn’t love pizza? And now that you have started the keto diet you can continue to do so. This keto chicken pizza crust is where it’s at when it comes to healthy junk food options. But, there is no junk in this crust at all. Other than seasonings this crust only 2 main ingredients. You will come across other chicken crust recipes that have parmesan cheese but you don’t have to use that. In honesty, it add a flavor to the crust that can be overpowering of the entire pizza. I like a pizza crust that I know is there but it doesn’t take away from the delicious pizza toppings.
What Is Chicken Crust Pizza
It is exactly what it sounds like, a crust made of pure chicken. Now, there are several variations I have seen with this version being no exception. Some have shredded chicken, canned chicken and like this one ground chicken. Just because it’s a chicken crust doesn’t mean you have to top it with chicken. As in the photos you’ll see that I topped mine with the classic pizza sauce and pepperoni combination. Whatever you like give it a try!
How To Make Ground Chicken Pizza Crust
To start. you’ll need to main ingredients and that is ground chicken and and egg. Next, gather your seasonings because we do want to add some flavor to the crust. Just a little but enough so that it isn’t completely bland.
In a mixing bowl add your ground chicken. Top with seasoning, blend them in and add your egg. Use a spoon or get your hands dirty to dig in and give it a solid mixing.
So, already you’ll notice the crust is sticking together beautifully. Lay out some parchment paper. Don’t skip this step.
Separate the crust into 6oz portions. You can freeze or refrigerate them for later or bake them all now. Roll the pizza crust out between 2 sheets of parchment paper. Not too thin or the crust will stick horribly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes in a preheated oven. Remove top with your favorite toppings then place back in on broil. Brown the cheese and serve.
Helpful Recipe Tips
- Do not roll the crust too thin. This will cause very bad sticking when you pull the top parchment paper sheet off. Make the crust about 1/4 inch thick that will be ideal. Also just separate from the top sheet of paper. Leave the bottom sheet on the pizza.
- Use parchment paper, chicken crust sticks very badly. Most keto pizza crust do, but this is the worse I have seen. Parchment paper won’t stick after it’s done cooking. When the crust is finish it will release super easy. A non stick pan won’t work this well.
What Toppings To You
Make your own pizza is the game here. But, note that the crust is chicken so be mindful of ingredients that go well with chicken. Most ingredients do since chicken is a naturally bland meat. Bacon, different cheese, fresh veggies, more chicken, pork the options are endless. The recipe makes 3 crust I say experiment with them all. Yet, you can never go wrong with the classic pepperoni and mozzarella cheese!
