How To Make A Healthy Buffalo Chicken Dip
Ingredients needed
- Shredded chicken
- Buffalo sauce
- Light cream cheese
- Sour cream or non-fat greek yogurt
- Part-skim shredded mozzarella
- Seasonings (listed below)
Helpful tips for the recipe
- Instead of using shredded chicken, take the chicken and chop it up finely. This way the chicken is spread out into the sauce and no long, large strands are being pulled away as people dip.
- Do you have a favorite buffalo sauce? If not, then searching for a buffalo sauce low in fat without a bunch of oil will be best. Most sauces aren’t to bad but my personal favorite by Primal Kitchen can be a bit heavy on calories.

Making the healthy buffalo chicken dip
- To start, bring the cream cheese to room temperature. You can make your own chicken but using a rotisserie chicken from the store is best.
- Preheat the oven to 400F.
- In a large bowl combine the chicken, buffalo sauce, cream cheese, sour cream and the seasonings. Mix everything well then taste for salt.
- In a baking dish, either a square 8×8 or a 8 or 9 inch round pan spread out the buffalo dip. Then, top with shredded mozzarella cheese and bake for 20 minutes in the oven until the cheese has melted.
- Lastly, allow to cool because the insides will be hot. Note, once the cheese cools you’ll need to cut it into sections to avoid pulling the entire layer of cheese from the dish trying to dip a chip.
