Can I make the rice in the crockpot as well?

Yes, you can. But, from my experience it never turns out well. I believe due to the heat of the drop in temperature. Even if the crockpot has been heated for hours, when you add the rice there is a drastic drop in temperature that take some time to rebound. This results in the rice not cooking evenly and requires a bunch of stirring and babysitting that isn’t needed cooking on the stove top. Slow cooker recipes are supposed to be easy after all.

Minute rice performs well but I have not seen a yellow rice version of minute rice to date. Cooking the rice on the stove top is super easy and you get better cooked rice.
