The Best Chocolate Keto Waffles!
- Has a authentic Oreo taste with dutch cocoa
- Easily made in 15 minutes
- Features a cream cheese spread for a sweet topping
How To Make Keto Waffles
- Bring your cream cheese to room temperature in the beginning. This will make mixing the topping much easier.
- Combine all dry ingredients. That would be blanched almond flour, dutch process cocoa, sweetener, salt, and baking powder.
- Mix wet ingredients which are simply one egg and a tablespoon of oil or butter. You can even use a diary free milk in the place of the oil. Note texture will change but taste will remain similar.
- Combine dry and wet ingredients.
- Make sure the batter is smooth and not lumpy. Spray the waffle iron and pour batter and cook until done.
- Next, in making the cream cheese topping simply mix everything together. The sauce is really simple, just make sure it’s smooth.
Helpful Recipe Tips
- For the true Oreo flavor you must use dutch process cocoa powder. If you want to swap out for regular cocoa powder you can but they won’t be Oreo flavored just chocolate flavored.
- Butter or coconut oil is ideal but just using something like almond milk will work just fine. The texture will be slightly different with the almond milk but not worries.
- These keto waffles are far more flimsy than my original recipe. They also don’t crisp up as my original did so be careful removing from the waffle iron.
