- Shredded Cabbage (also known as angel hair)
- Leftover rice (day old rice)
- Shredded carrots
- Onion
- Garlic
- Soy sauce
- Oyster sauce
- Sesame oil

If you do not want to buy pre-shredded cabbage you can shred your own. But, make sure you cut it thin because this recipe is designed to cook quickly.
Why leftover rice?
There is something that happens with the rice and it’s starches when the rice is cold and then refrigerated. Any Chinese restaurant you visit the rice is always a day old because it cooks better and absorbs the flavors of the sauces better as well.
Making the cabbage fried rice
- First, prep all the veggies before starting because the recipe moves fast. If you do not have a wok a sauce pan will work as well. Mix the sauce together and set to the side.
- Now in the pan add a little oil and sauté the onions and carrots together. Once they are all soft and fragrant move to the next step.
- Next, add in the cabbage. Because it’s so thin it will cook extremely fast.
