Making sliced potatoes in the air fryer

  1. First, rinse the potatoes clean. You can eat the skin but if you prefer the potatoes without skin you are welcome to peel them.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 375F.
  3. While the air fryer is preheating toss the potatoes in oil then season the with salt and pepper. If you do not have coarse salt and pepper, fine grain is fine just use a little less.
  4. Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer when it’s ready. Cook for 15 minutes while flipping the potatoes after 5 minutes. This will make you do two flips of the potatoes to help them dry out properly and get crispy.
  5. Once the air fryer sliced potatoes are finished serve with your favorite dip or main dish.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Do I need to soak the potatoes before air frying?

No, its not needed but you can soak them. I do not think soaking makes that much difference in the air fryer and it just adds extra time to a recipe that should be done in 30 minutes or less.

Why didn’t the potatoes cook? Why are they soggy?

One major issue with potatoes is not preheating the air fryer or overcrowding the potatoes. Crispiness comes from the ability to evaporate the water in the whatever is cooking. When you crowd things you do not allow the ability for the air to flow and dry out whatever is cooking resulting in sogginess and a longer cooking time.
