How To Make Air Fryer Cheese Curds
Ingredients needed
- Cheese curds
- Panko
- All-purpose flour
- Egg
- Salt & pepper
Quick tip before starting the recipe
Coat the cheese curds the best way you can. Any gaps left open is where the cheese will leak out. It’s cheese so some will leak out anyway as you can see in the photos. But, it should be to a minimum like with mozzarella sticks.
You can also use parchment paper for easy clean up. My air fryer grate is non-stick like most and the cheese came up without a problem.
Making the crispy cheese curds in the air fryer
- First, make three stations for flouring, egg wash and breading. Cheese curds come in all shapes and sizes but I recommend the bigger ones for this recipe. Flour the cheese curd, dip into the egg wash and remove any excess, then cover with the breading. Pat the breading into the cheese curd if possible to get more on top.
- Now, place the breaded cheese curds on a plate. Allow them to absorb the egg into the breading. After a minute or so spray them on both sides with cooking spray.
- Preheat the air fryer to 350F.
- Place the cheese curds in the basket. Do not stack them but you can crowd them a little because you will not be flipping them.
- Air fry for 4-5 minutes or until there is some browning and the cheese has started to leak out a little. Remove the basket and allow them to cool before taking them out of the air fryer basket. This will allow the cheese to harden a little so you can easily handle them.
