The best teriyaki glazed salmon, pan fried salmon that’s golden and full of flavor then topped with a sticky teriyaki glaze.
Are you craving a delicious and flavorful meal that combines the delicacy of salmon with the rich teriyaki glaze? Look no further than pan-fried teriyaki glazed salmon. This recipe is aimed to create the biggest flavor and pan frying is the secret.
Pan-frying allows for the perfect balance of sticky, caramelized glaze on top of golden, sautéed salmon that’s juicy and flakey. The direct heat from the pan ensures that the glaze caramelizes and it creates a beautiful golden crust for the salmon.
Not only is pan-frying a quick and easy way to prepare teriyaki glazed salmon, but it also allows for better control over the cooking process. You can adjust the heat and cooking time to achieve the desired level of doneness. Whether you prefer your salmon rare, medium, or well-done, pan-frying gives you the flexibility to cook it to perfection.
How To Make Teriyaki Glazed Salmon
Ingredients needed
- Salmon
- Teriyaki sauce
- Hoisin sauce
- Soy saice
- White vinegar
- Sesame oil
- Brown sugar
- Cornstarch (optional)
- Salt & black pepper
Quick tips for the best recipe
- Be sure to buy actual teriyaki sauce or marinade. There are a bunch of bottles labeled teriyaki but they are different. In this recipe, you’re making a teriyaki glaze but you can also buy a glaze from the store. It’s easy to confuse the two but here is a great example of what you should buy.
- You can also bake the salmon and make the glaze on the stove top. But, the directions below will be for pan frying the salmon because it tends to result in far more flavor.
Making the pan fried teriyaki glazed salmon
- First, mix together the ingredients for the teriyaki glaze. If you have time remove the salmon about 30 minutes from the fridge before you’re ready to cook. Season the salmon with salt and black pepper.
- Now, in a frying pan on medium high heat cook the salmon. Searing both sides and flipping every few minutes until fully cooked. When the salmon is done, place on a plate and lower the heat to medium.
- Pour in the teriyaki glaze. If you used cornstarch it’ll thick almost instantly but if not you’ll need to give it time to simmer down and thicken a bit. I suggest to the cornstarch.
- Now that the heat is lowered add the salmon back in and baste in the glaze. After about a minute or two turn off the heat.
- Serve the teriyaki glazed salmon over a bed of rice or noodles, enjoy.
