Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets
  • salt & pepper to taste

teriyaki glaze

  • 3 tablespoon teriyaki sauce/marinade
  • 2 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 3 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch

Instructions

  • First, mix together the ingredients for the teriyaki glaze. If you have time remove the salmon about 30 minutes from the fridge before you're ready to cook. Season the salmon with salt and black pepper.
  • Now, in a frying pan on medium high heat cook the salmon. Searing both sides and flipping every few minutes until fully cooked. When the salmon is done, place on a plate and lower the heat to medium.
  • Pour in the teriyaki glaze. If you used cornstarch it'll thick almost instantly but if not you'll need to give it time to simmer down and thicken a bit. I suggest to the cornstarch.
  • Now that the heat is lowered add the salmon back in and baste in the glaze. After about a minute or two turn off the heat.
  • Serve the teriyaki glazed salmon over a bed of rice or noodles, enjoy.
