How To Make Peach Cobbler With Cake Mix

Ingredients needed

  • Canned peaches
  • Box cake (yellow or vanilla)
  • Butter
  • Cinnamon
  • Granulated sugar

Tips, where this recipe can go wrong…

The butter is the key to the topping so don’t think using less will make a better recipe. It actually causes more dry spots. Sadly, you can’t mix melted butter into the cake mix because it basically turns to glue, ask me how I know?

There may or may not be dry spots but the best you can do is spread the butter out the best you can. I’ve seen people melt part of the butter and place the rest down it slices. I have also had very good luck at crisper crust by using only half the cake mix rather than the entire bag over the peaches.

Making the peach cobbler with cake mix recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. Next, add the canned peaching into the baking dish with the syrup as well.
  3. Then, sprinkle the cake mix across the top evenly. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture across the top of the cake mix. Then, place slices of butter across the pan as evenly as possible. With 12 tablespoons, I am always able to get great coverage with thin slices.
  4. Place in the oven and bake for 40 minutes. The butter will melt and cause a crust to form. When the time is up, allow to cool for the crust to crisp up before serving. Serve with ice cream and enjoy!
