  • Macaroni elbow pasta
  • Cheddar cheese soup
  • Onion soup mix
  • Egg
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Buttermilk or milk
  • Barbecue sauce
  • Ketchup
  • Evaporated milk
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Sharp cheddar cheese

Making the mac and cheese meatloaf casserole recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. In a large bowl combine the ground beef, onion soup mix, breadcrumbs, buttermilk, and eggs. In a small bow, mix together the barbecue sauce and ketchup.
  3. Next, in the baking dish add the meatloaf and press down into the bottom of the pan. Spread the sauce across the top, then place in the oven for 30 minutes.
  4. While baking, combine the evaporated milk with the cheddar cheese soup. Grate the cheeses for the recipe. Then 15 minutes before the meatloaf is finished in the oven, cook the elbow pasta according to the package instructions.
  5. Now, when the meatloaf has cooked, remove the baking dish from the oven. Mix the cooked elbow pasta with the cheese sauce and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Then add the mac and cheese across the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Finish the baking dish off with the rest of the cheese across the top. Place back in the oven for 20 minutes then finish with a broil to brown the cheese on the top. Allow to cool when finished before serving.
