Can I Eat Brownies On Keto
When the label reads keto friendly and the ingredients check out you can absolutely have brownies on keto! That is, with moderate understanding this can’t be the only thing you eat that is. They are a great way to curb the appetite and keep from having an unscheduled cheat.
Is Dark Chocolate Keto
The percentage is what you need to look for. In this recipe, I use anything from 88% up. I find that chocolate with a little sugar helps in the recipe hinting to how I end up with a crispy layer on top. Using 100% is best but bitter chocolate takes some getting use to.

How To Make A Keto Brownie Recipe
To start, choose your chocolate wisely. It is everything in this recipe. I use Lindt and Ghirardelli because I can get a rich chocolate and I like to have a tiny bit of sugar to help my crust form on top. Also, for your cocoa powder use dutch process cocoa it has the richest flavor for brownies.
In a mixing bowl, either using a double boiler method or microwave melt chocolate bar, cocoa powder and butter together.
When smooth add in granulated or powdered sweetener. Powdered is best but granulated will work as well.
Next, add in your almond flour, coconut flour and cocoa powder. Mix these very well.
Finish with both eggs and vanilla extract. Pour this into a 8×8 or 9×9 square baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. In the photos I used a 7.6×7.6 inch square dish.
Helpful Recipe Tips
- Fudgy brownie, avoid letting the brownies fully cook. Bake them a little under for the fudge effect when they are done cooling.
- Dutch process or cocoa powder, both can be used but in my recipes I use dutch process cocoa. It’s also the one I recommend you use as well for a rich brownie flavor.
- Avoid keto milk chocolate, tossing in a few chocolate chips is cool and great on flavor but a rich dark chocolate is best for baking. Using milk chocolate that’s keto friendly can have a very light chocolate taste. Now, for those that hate rich chocolate this would be the ideal method for you.

Love this recipe! It is everything Darius describes it to be! – rich, chocolatey, fudgy with a crispy crust! I did lower the sweetener level to 1/4 cup and it still worked very well! Used Hershey’s cocoa cos that was all I had too and it didn’t take away from the richness. Added roasted hazelnuts for a bit of a crunch and it was heaven on earth! 🤤🤤🤤 totally recommend this!
