How To Make Keto Beef And Broccoli
- You want to first purchase a keto friendly teriyaki sauce that’s sugar and soy free. Primal Kitchen is what I used and made this recipe super easy.
- Grab a pack of beef stir fry or flank steak, broccoli crowns (fresh or frozen) and have some sesame seeds in close reach. Although the seeds are optional.
- If using fresh or frozen broccoli you will want to cook this first. Slightly, not all the way through. You want to release some of the water out first. Also, once added to the beef you want it to still have a slight crunch when done but not be mushy or undercooked.
- In a sauté pan on medium high heat pour olive oil or coconut in. Begin searing your steak, seasoning with salt and pepper along the way.
- Once you get a good color on your steak toss in broccoli.
- Next, pour teriyaki sauce into pan. I used a little stock to keep the sauce from sticking immediately but you don’t have too. Especially using a non-stick pan.
- Allow sauce to cook into the keto beef and broccoli for maximum flavor. Stirring on medium heat for about 5 minutes. You will notice the beef and broccoli to take the colors of the sauce this is it working its way in.
- Once done, serve.
Helpful Recipe Tips
- Garnish with sesame seeds after finish cooking for more of the original feel.
- When trying out the recipe I covered the pan while cooking. I would advise against this. This welcomed too much water into the sauce for my personal taste.
- Quickly sear your steak. Don’t allow it to boil due to low heat. And don’t over cook it, all pieces won’t have that beautiful sear to it but enough will. If you overcook this cut of beef it can be tough so keep an open eye on it.
