How To Make Keto Ranch Dressing-Step By Step

  1. Start off with a good quality mayo without soybean, canola or vegetable oil. Primal Kitchen has one and Chosen Foods. Start with 2 tablespoons.
  2. Next, add in sour cream then mix the mayo and sour cream together. A simple spoon will do as in the recipe video.
    step-by-step-instructions
  3. After that, pour in your buttermilk for a tangy flavor or heavy cream to keep the carbs low.
  4. Mix this well. Lastly, add in ranch seasoning. I use select savory seasonings because they are maltodextrin and sugar free.

Helpful Recipe Tips

  • Is buttermilk ranch keto? Well the amount of buttermilk used here is very small. Yet, if you don’t want to purchase buttermilk if this is all you will use it for that’s fine. Heavy cream will be a better option and more versatile.
  • Let the dressing sit in the refrigerator. The longer it sits the more the flavors will marinate together making the keto ranch dressing even better.

How Long To Store Homemade Dressing

Homemade dressings don’t have the shelf life as dressing in the store. They typically last as long as the weakest ingredient. In this case it would be a toss up between the sour cream and heavy cream or buttermilk. My rule of thumb is to check the expiration date on each ingredients. Whichever comes up first that is the end date of your product. Typically, expect it to last in a sealed container or a jar a minimum of one week.

Macros In Ranch Dressing

The nutrition facts are below via Cronometer. For full vitamins and mineral breakdown simply click the link on the label. The label has the macros for the buttermilk coming out to almost 2g net carbs per serving. The heavy cream wasn’t much different coming in at 1.4g.
