How To Make Crockpot Pork Chops And Rice

Ingredients needed

  • Pork chops
  • All-purpose flour (see notes)
  • Minute rice
  • Chicken broth
  • Mushroom soup
  • Chicken bouillon cube

Important tip and a flavorful variation before starting

  • I highly recommend using minute rice or instant rice over traditional. It cooks much faster and normal rice can be cooked in the crockpot, but it doesn’t perform very well. And the idea is to make the recipe as easy as possible.
  • I suggest using thick pork chops so that you can use the flour and sear them before adding them to the crockpot. Searing them adds a nice flavor because the crockpot without the sear gives a sort of boiled taste to the chops. But you can skip this step and if your pork chops are thin I recommend you skip this step as well.

Making the crockpot pork chops and rice using cream of mushroom

  1. First, pat the pork chops dry then lightly season with salt and pepper. Grab a plate and add the flour and season the flour.
  2. Turn a pan on medium-high heat with a little oil. Dip the pork chops in the dry flour on both sides and shake off the excess. Sear both sides in the frying pan until golden brown then remove and place in the crockpot.
  3. Combine the mushroom soup and chicken broth. Use a whisk or gradually add the chicken broth into the mushroom soup slowly to prevent lumps. Then pour on top of the pork chops in the crockpot.
  4. Crumble the chicken bouillon cube on top.
  5. Cook the pork chops on high for 3-4 hours or low for 5-6 hours. Once done, remove the pork chops then add in the minute rice. Stire every few minutes until the rice has absorbed the liquid.
  6. Plate the rice and pork chops then serve.
