How To Make Bruschetta With Mozzarella
Ingredients needed
- Baguette
- Olive oil
- Cherry tomatoes
- Balsamic glaze
- Mozzarella sliced
- Basil
Quick tip for homemade balsamic glaze
You can easily buy great balsamic glaze. I have a recipe for it but in the recipe I make the suggestion to add a thickener in the glaze. If you use it for this recipe, you’ll need to thicken it with the cornstarch. It’ll turn out much thicker and be more pleasing considering this is a presentation-type dish.
Helpful tips for the best recipe
Fresh baguette bread please! You can buy the older ones from the grocery store, but I strongly suggest going to the local bakery and getting a quality loaf. The bread really matters.
If possible, source high quality olive oil. I personally have a store that specializes in olive oil in my city, but everyone isn’t as lucky. Here are some store brands I have tried that are pretty good and always go for the dark bottles:
- California Olive Ranch
- Costco brands
- Cobram estate
There aren’t many option but these are decent. I would suggest trying out a few brands over time to really get an idea for what you personally enjoy.
Making the bruschetta using mozzarella cheese
- Preheat the oven to 400F. Slice the bread and drizzle olive oil on the slices and spread them out.
- Cook the bread until it starts to get golden and toasty. Add the sliced cheese as soon as it comes from the oven to the slices.
- In a large bowl, halve the cherry tomatoes and chop the basil. Then toss in them both in olive oil and add salt and black pepper to taste.
- On top of the cheese, place the tomato basil mix. Plate them in an arrangement then drizzle the balsamic glaze across each piece of toast. Enjoy.
