Ingredients needed
- Salmon
- Maple syrup
- Soy sauce
- Garlic
- Sesame oil
- Cornstarch
- Salt & black pepper
Helpful tip for the best recipe
When you add the glaze to the pan, it’ll begin to bubble and thicken. Be sure to lower the heat before adding to the pan to avoid burning. Also, do not let it cook too long. There will be a little foam but once that is gone it’s the perfect time to remove the pan from the heat.
Making the maple glazed salmon recipe
- First, dry the salmon off with a paper towel. Then season with coarse salt and pepper. You’re seasoning to taste so if you are unsure do not go overboard.
- If the salmon has skin make a few slits in the skin so that it gets crispy all the way across.
- Mix together the ingredients for the glaze then sit to the side.
- Now, in a skillet or frying pan on medium high heat add a little oil. Cook the salmon skin side down first then flip until done which is a safe temperature of at least 145F according to the USDA.
- When salmon is finished lower the heat to medium then pour in the glaze you mixed together earlier. When you add the glaze it will foam. Allow the glaze to cook until the foam is done. You are also cooking the garlic within the glaze as well. When the foam is gone and the maple glaze has thickened remove the pan from heat.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Can I bake or air fry this recipe?
You can this recipe both ways but if you use either you’ll have to make the glaze in the sauce pan on top of the stove.
