Air fryer chicken parmesan

Do you really know how many things you can cook in the air fryer? I’m going to show you how to make air fryer chicken parmesan with ease! Whether you’re new to air frying or a seasoned pro, you’ll find everything you need to create a mouthwatering chicken parmesan.

In this step-by-step guide, I’ll walk you through the process of prepping and cooking the chicken. With the help of your air fryer, you can enjoy all the deliciousness of traditional chicken parmesan with less oil and mess. Plus, it’s a healthier alternative to deep-fried versions.

So, let’s get started and I’ll show you how to do it.

How To Make Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan

Ingredients needed

  • Thin Chicken breast
  • Marinara sauce
  • Mozzarella
  • Italian breadcrumbs
  • Egg
  • Grated parmesan

Quick tips before starting

  • Thin chicken cutlets are the best for the recipe. They will cook fast and you do not have to worry about burning the breadcrumbs due to trying to cook a thick piece of chicken.
  • In the recipe photos, I used whole milk mozzarella. But to make it easy, shredded mozzarella will work. With sliced whole milk mozzarella you get that super creamy and flavorful cheese that you can’t get with shredded.
  • There’s no need to double dip the chicken in the egg wash and breadcrumbs. You’ll only make more of a mess in the air fryer and with a thin coating there is easy clean-up afterwards.

Making the chicken parmesan in the air fryer

  1. First, pat the chicken breast dry. You should be using seasoned breadcrumbs but you can add a light coating of salt and pepper if you’d like.
  2. Set up an egg wash station and a breading station on the counter. Dip the chicken in the egg wash then cover with the breadcrumbs. Important step, set the breaded chicken on a plate or cutting board for about 5 minutes. This will allow the breadcrumbs to really stick to the chicken and absorb some of the egg.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 360F.
  4. Once preheated place the chicken in the air fryer then set the time for 12 minutes. At the 6 minute mark, flip the chicken then add two spoonfuls of marinara sauce then add the cheese. Cook a remaining 6 minutes.
  5. Once done, allow to cool a bit, sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese over the chicken then serve.
