Total Time: 1 hour 45 minutes
Servings: 6 serving

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground turkey
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 medium carrots, peeled & grated
  • 2 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Glaze

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Instructions

  • To start, you'll need to prep all the ingredients first. Before you make the meatloaf you need to cook the onion, carrots and garlic first. This will cause them to have a much better flavor in the final product. Simply toss the diced onion, grated carrots and minced garlic in a frying pan on medium high heat with a little oil and cook until they are all soft and fragrant.
  • Now, once they are sit them to the side in a bowl or plate to allow them to cool. They won't cool down if you leave them in a hot pan.
  • Next, in a large bowl combine the ground turkey, cooked veggies, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, beaten eggs, buttermilk, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper. Give it a good mix then cover and let it sit while you make the glaze.
  • Preheat the oven to 350℉
  • For this glaze you do not need to heat it up. Mix everything in a bowl together and that's it.
  • Now, grab a sheet pan and shape the meatloaf directly in the middle. Everything should stay together without any issues.
  • Use half the glaze on the meatloaf then place the meatloaf in the oven. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, more or less. Due to ovens being different check the temperature of the meatloaf at the 1 hour make. A thermometer probe is perfect for this. You'll want the internal temp to be at least 165F* when the turkey meat is done.
  • Now, when the turkey is done remove from the oven and use the rest of the glaze while the meatloaf is still hot. Be careful and do not burn yourself.
  • Lastly, allow the meatloaf to cool about 15-20 minutes before serving.
