To start the recipe, prep and cook the onions and peppers. Make sure they are browning, withered and caramelized. Allow them to cool while going to the next step.
In a large bowl, add in the ground beef. Season the ground beef with the listed ingredients. Next, add in a beaten egg, breadcrumbs, mayo, provolone then the cooked veggies. Fold everything together then cover the bowl and place in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350℉.
Now, line a loaf pan then place the meatloaf in and pat it down. Place the pan in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Add the American cheese on the top then place back in the oven and cook the meatloaf for another 20-30 minutes. I always use a thermometer to test for the meatloaf. I look for at least 145℉ before removing from the oven.
Lastly, allow the Philly cheesesteak meatloaf to cool before removing from the pan and serving.
